Add an image gallery to a risk assessment

Add an Image Gallery section to a risk assessment draft to collect photos, diagrams, or evidence in one place. You can upload files or use your device camera, view images full-screen, and remove photos you no longer need. The gallery appears in Full PDF and print exports, and read-only published versions hide the upload and delete controls.

Before you start

You need at least the Member role for the Risks module to add, edit, or remove images in an Image Gallery section. Published and historical versions are read-only. For role details, see Risks roles and access.

  1. Open the draft assessment.

  2. Click Add Section, or click the Add Image Gallery chip in the start hub.

  3. In the section picker, choose Image Gallery under the Basic group. You can use the search box to filter the list.

  4. The section opens in metadata edit mode. Enter a Title and optional Description, then click Save. The gallery body appears once the title is saved.

Upload photos

  1. Inside the Image Gallery section, click the empty gallery area or the Add Images action in the section header.

  2. Select files to upload, or use your device camera to capture a new photo.

  3. Photos appear in the gallery as thumbnails. Click any thumbnail to open the full-screen viewer and navigate through the images.

Remove a photo

  1. In the gallery, click the delete control on the image you want to remove.

  2. The photo is removed immediately from the gallery.

Read-only published versions

When an assessment is published, the Image Gallery section becomes read-only. The gallery still shows the thumbnails and the full-screen viewer, but the upload controls, camera capture, and delete controls are hidden. The empty state changes to No photos uploaded. with no upload affordance.

Export and print output

Image Gallery sections appear in Full PDF and print output. Each gallery is rendered as a titled block with a three-column thumbnail grid. If the gallery has no title and no description, the export title defaults to Image Gallery. Sections that have no photos, no title, and no description are omitted from the export. The export does not include upload, camera, or delete controls.

  1. In the section header, click the delete control.

  2. Confirm the Delete Image Gallery Section dialog. The button text changes to Deleting… while the action is in progress. This permanently removes the section and its attached photos.
