Quizzes
Quizzes are multiple-choice questions you create in the Training area. You can use them as course assessments with pass marks and attempt limits, or attach them to document and risk assessment distributions where recipients must answer all questions correctly to acknowledge.
How to create a quiz
Go to Training > Quizzes
Click Create Quiz
Enter a Title (required) and Description (optional)
Optionally link a source document or risk assessment—useful when generating questions from that content
Add questions:
Manually: Click Add Question, enter the question text, add 2–4 options, and mark exactly one as correct
With AI: Click Generate with AI, choose Free Text (enter a topic), From document (select an editor document), or From risk assessment (select a risk assessment), then click Generate—AI creates multiple-choice questions you can edit or add to
Click Save to create the quiz
Note: AI quiz generation works for editor documents and risk assessments, but not for uploaded PDFs. PDF quiz support is coming soon.
How to use a quiz in a distribution
When you create a document or risk assessment distribution, you can set the acknowledgement type to Quiz and select the quiz you want recipients to complete.
Recipients must answer all questions correctly and can retry immediately until they pass. Once they pass, their acknowledgement is recorded. There is no limit on attempts, no pass mark setting, and no attempt history or scoring stored—just pass/fail.
How to use a quiz in a training course assessment
Training courses support an Assessment step type that uses a quiz. You can set a pass mark, limit the number of attempts, and review full attempt history and scores afterward.

Before you start
You need Manager or Admin access to the Training module to create and manage quizzes. If you don't see Training > Quizzes or Create Quiz, ask your site administrator for access.
Quizzes can be created from editor documents and risk assessments. PDF documents are not yet supported for AI generation.
Documents must have a published version before you can generate quiz questions from them.
Common questions
Can I use a quiz for a PDF document? You can create a quiz manually on any topic and attach it to a distribution that includes a PDF. AI generation from PDF content is not yet supported.
Do users get multiple attempts in a distribution? Yes. Users can retry immediately until they pass. There is no limit on attempts—the goal is engagement, not assessment.
Is there a pass score or attempt history in a distribution? No. Quizzes in distributions require 100% correct. CalmCompliance records only that the user passed—no per-attempt tracking or scoring reports.
Can I use a quiz in a training course? Yes. Training courses support an Assessment step type with pass marks, attempt limits, and full attempt history. See Add an assessment to a training course.
Can I edit a quiz after it's been used? Yes. Edits apply to future courses and distributions. Learners and recipients who already passed are not affected.
How do I delete a quiz? Open the quiz from Training > Quizzes, click the delete option, and confirm. Remove the quiz from any active courses or distributions first—otherwise those assessments and distributions may fail when people try to complete them.
