Report a medical or first-aid incident
Medical and first-aid events are reported through the standard incident workflow. After an incident is reported, managers record treatment details in the investigation timeline using the Medical Update step.
Before you start
To report an incident, you need the Incident module member role or higher. To record medical details or configure medical options, you need the Incident module manage or admin role. For a full role breakdown, see Incidents roles and access.
Report the incident
Use the built-in incident report to log the event.
Navigate to your site and open Service Desk > Issues, then select Report Incident. Alternatively, go directly to the Incidents module and select Report Incident.
Enter the required details: when the incident occurred, a description, and optionally severity, location, asset, and images.
Click Submit Incident.
For the full reporting workflow, including QR-code options, see Create an incident.
Record medical details in the investigation
Only managers and admins can view the investigation timeline. After the incident is reported, open the incident and add a Medical Update step to record treatment details.
Open the incident detail page.
In the investigation section, select Record Step.
Choose Medical Update.
Enter the details:
Presenting Issues
Body Location
Person Type

Treatment Given
Notes
Save the step. It appears in the timeline with a timestamp.
The First Aider or Responder participant role is available when recording who provided first aid. For full investigation instructions, see Investigate an incident. For participant roles, see How the incident module works.
Configure medical options
Managers and admins can configure the medical options that appear in the Medical Update step.
Go to Settings > Incidents.
Open the Medical Outcomes tab to add or edit available outcomes.
Open the Presenting Issues tab to add or edit available issues.
