Resize and reorder table columns
Most tables and grids across CalmCompliance let you resize columns by dragging their edges, and show or hide columns using the Grid options menu. Column width, visibility, and order changes are saved to your user preferences and are kept in the current browser session, so your layout is restored immediately when you navigate back to the same page.
Resize a column
Drag the right edge of a column header to change its width. The pointer changes to a resize indicator when you hover over the draggable edge.
Show, hide, or reorder columns
Click the Grid options button at the top of the table.
Select Columns.
In the Column Visibility dialog, check or uncheck the columns you want to show or hide.
Drag columns into the order you want.
Click Apply to confirm, or Cancel to discard changes.
The dialog shows the helper text: Show or hide columns in the table. Drag to reorder.
How column layout persists
When you resize, reorder, or show and hide columns, the layout is saved to your user preferences. The table also keeps the latest layout in browser-session memory. If you navigate away and return within the same session, the table restores your most recent layout immediately instead of reverting to an older saved snapshot.
Session-level persistence applies within the current browser session only. It is not a cross-device sync: logging in on a different device or browser loads your saved preferences from the server, which may reflect the last successfully saved state rather than the very latest session changes.
If a save fails
If the system cannot save your column preferences, a toast appears with the message: Failed to save column preferences. Please try again. Your layout stays visible in the current session, but it may revert to the previously saved state if you leave and return after the session ends.
Where this applies
This behavior applies to both server-backed tables and tree-style grids across the platform, including the Operations Schedules board, Work Order coverage grids, Service Desk ticket lists, and Premises entity trees.
