Link equipment risk profiles to assets
Link an equipment risk profile to an asset model when the same risk applies to every unit of that equipment type, or to a specific asset instance when risk varies by individual unit. A profile can only be linked to one asset at a time—either a model or an instance, never both.
Before You Start
You need the Manager role for the Risks module to link or unlink equipment risk profiles. For a full role overview, see Risks roles and access.
How to Link to an Asset Model
Link at the model level when the same risk profile applies to every unit of this type. The asset model provides manufacturer and documentation context automatically.
Go to Risks and open the equipment risk profile.
In the Asset section, click Link Asset Model.
In the Select Asset Model to Link picker, search for the asset model.
Click Link on the model you want to attach.
The button shows Linking while the connection is saved, then the Asset section updates to show the linked model.
How to Link to an Asset Instance
Link a specific unit when risk varies by asset tag or serial. The parent asset model is resolved automatically for manufacturer and documentation.
Go to Risks and open the equipment risk profile.
In the Asset section, click Link Asset.
In the Select Asset to Link picker, search by name, asset tag, or serial.
Click Link on the instance you want to attach.
The button shows Linking while the connection is saved, then the Asset section updates to show the linked instance.
How to Unlink an Asset
Open the equipment risk profile.
In the Asset section, click the action to remove the link.
In the Unlink Asset dialog, confirm by clicking Unlink.
The dialog warns that risk fields on the profile are not changed. After unlinking, the Asset section returns to the empty state No Asset Linked.
What Appears on the Asset Side
Asset Model Page
On an asset model detail page, the Equipment Risk Profiles card shows profiles linked to this asset model or its units.
Asset Instance Page
On an asset instance detail page, the Equipment Risk Profiles card shows profiles linked to this specific asset.
