Delete a location
Delete a location from your premises register when it is no longer needed and has no active linked records. You need the Admin role for Premises to delete a location.
How to delete a location
Go to Premises > Locations.
Find the location you want to delete.
Open the location and click Delete.
If the location has linked records, the deletion is blocked and you see an error message.
What blocks deletion
Deletion is blocked when a location has any of the following linked records:
Child locations (sub-rooms, floors, or buildings under it)
Assets
Work schedules
Condition survey rows
Workflow rules
Active service desk records (issues, incidents, or requests) added to the location
Removed associations are not counted as blockers. Only records with an active added status prevent deletion.
If the location only has children, the error message is: Cannot delete a location that has children. Please delete all child locations first.
If the location has other linked records, the error message is: This location has linked records and cannot be deleted yet.
How to unblock deletion
Remove or reassign the linked records before trying again:
Delete child locations first, working from the bottom of the hierarchy up.
Move assets to a different location.
Remove or reassign work schedules, condition survey rows, and workflow rules.
Resolve or reassign any active issues, incidents, or requests linked to the location.
