Complete incident corrective actions
Once follow-up work on an incident is finished, verify the corrective actions in the incident detail page and record any completion evidence before resolving the incident. This ensures the timeline is complete and the audit trail captures who did what and when.
Where to find corrective actions
Open the incident detail page and scroll to the Corrective Actions section. The section is ordered newest first and shows every action recorded in response to the incident. Only users with the Incident module manage or admin role can see corrective actions; members cannot see this section.
If no actions have been recorded yet, the section shows No actions recorded yet and prompts you to add actions.
Verify actions are complete
Before resolving the incident, review each action in the timeline to confirm the work was carried out.
Open the incident detail page.
In the Corrective Actions section, review each recorded action.
If an action created a linked task, issue, or request, open it and confirm it is closed or complete.
If an action sent a distribution, check the status. Distributions may show Acknowledged, Overdue, or Pending. Toggle Show recipients to see who was sent the distribution.
Record completion evidence
Use the Record Action button to add a final action that documents what was completed or attaches evidence.
In the Corrective Actions section, select Record Action.
Choose the action type that best describes the completion evidence:
Record a generic action โ Enter details describing the work completed. The Details field is required.
Take Photos โ Upload photos as evidence that the corrective action was completed.
Attach Files โ Upload documents, spreadsheets, or other files as evidence.
Enter the required information and save.
The action is added to the timeline with a timestamp and the person who recorded it. See Manage incident actions for the full list of action types.
How completion feeds into incident status and audit trail
Each corrective action appears in the timeline with a timestamp and who recorded it, creating a linked record that feeds the incidentโs audit trail. When all follow-up work is verified and documented, resolve the incident.
On the incident detail page, select Resolve Incident.
Choose a Resolution Type such as Resolved to indicate all necessary actions have been completed.
(Optional) Add Resolution Notes to explain the outcome.
Save to close the incident.
The incident status becomes Closed, a Resolution section appears on the detail page with the resolution type, who resolved it, and any notes, and the full record remains visible for audit. See Review incident outcomes for the full resolution workflow.
Only users with the Incident module manage or admin role can record corrective actions and resolve an incident. Members cannot see the Corrective Actions section or the Resolve Incident option.
