Attach files to a contract
Attach files to a contract and give each file its own expiry date. Every attachment is tracked separately from the contract itself: an expired file does not change the contract's status.
Before you start
You need the Contracts Manager role. Uploading, editing, and removing attachments are only available to people who can edit the contract. If you cannot see the upload option, ask your site administrator to update your role.
Upload files
Open the contract to its Contract Details page.
Scroll to the File Attachments section.
Click Upload Files and select the files you want to attach.
Each file you upload appears in the File Attachments section of the contract.
Set an expiry date
Every attachment can have its own expiry date, set per file rather than for the whole contract.
In the File Attachments section, open the attachment you want to date.
Set the Expiry Date to the date the file expires.
Save the attachment.
To remove an expiry date, clear the Expiry Date field and save. The file then shows as Never expires.
Edit or remove an attachment
You can preview, edit, and remove any attachment in the File Attachments section. Editing an attachment lets you change its expiry date; removing it takes the file off the contract. Contract attachments do not have public sharing or QR visibility controls.
What happens at expiry
The expiry date shows differently depending on when it falls:
A future date shows as Expires with the date.
A past date shows as Expired on with the date.
No date shows as Never expires.
Expired and expiring attachments appear in the product's expiry tracking under the category File Attachment, linking to the contract they belong to. This includes attachments on auto-renewing contracts.
Contract attachments do not have their own email reminders. Track expiry through Contracts Insights and the expiry views.
