Change or reset a review due date

Admins can manually override the next review due date on a document or risk assessment before the first scheduled review is completed, and reset it back to the automatic schedule at any time before that review happens.

When the override is available

The manual due-date override is available when all of the following are true:

  • The content is a document or risk assessment with an assigned review policy.

  • The first scheduled review has not yet been completed.

  • You have an Admin role for the relevant module.

Set a custom next review due date

  1. Open the document or risk assessment and go to the Reviews tab.

  2. In the schedule view, find the current next review due date.

  3. Click on the date to edit.

  4. Select the new date and save it.

The schedule now uses your chosen date as the next review due date. The override is visible on the Reviews tab so other admins can see it was changed.

Reset to the automatic schedule

  1. Open the document or risk assessment and go to the Reviews tab.

  2. Find the overridden due date in the schedule view.

  3. Choose the option to reset the due date back to the automatic schedule.

The next review due date returns to the date calculated from the review policy interval. The override history remains visible in the review schedule.

What happens after the first review is completed

Once the first scheduled review is completed, the manual override option is no longer available. The next review due date is calculated automatically from the completion date plus the policy interval, and the cycle continues on that interval.

For more about completing scheduled reviews, see Managing Review Cycles. For how review schedules are calculated, see Setting Up Review Schedules.
