Use Contracts Insights
Contracts Insights is a site-level dashboard for contract renewals, notice deadlines, coverage gaps, contract value, renewal timing, and supplier spend. It has no page-level filters: the Renewal Runway widget renders first, followed by the other six widgets in a two-column layout. Every Contracts module role can open it.
Who can open Contracts Insights
Open the page from the Contracts area of your site. All three Contracts module roles, Member, Manager, and Admin, include access to Insights. If you open the page without that access, it shows only the message "You don't have access to view Contracts insights."
Renewal Runway
Subtitled "Notice deadlines and renewals over the next 12 months," the first widget lays every qualifying contract onto a single twelve-month runway so you can see term, notice windows, and decisions at a glance.
Contract rows with remaining-term bars and notice-window bars.
"Give notice by" diamonds, "Expires / renews" end markers, and "Auto-renews" icons.
"Notice missed" indicators and a "Today" marker.
A legend explains "Remaining term", "Notice window", "Give notice by", "Expires / renews", "Auto-renews", and "Notice missed". Rows are grouped under labels such as "Notice missed", "Notice due within 30 days", "Notice due in 31–90 days", "Later notice deadline", "Expired", "No notice period", and "Decision Recorded".
The header shows how many contracts qualify and a "View all" link that opens the Contracts register. Click a contract row to open the contract. Rows for contracts you can manage also have an ellipsis action labelled "Manage Decision" with the contract name, which opens the renewal decision dialog described as "Review and record the decision for this term." From that dialog you can record or change the decision, record notice given or withdraw it, and, where applicable, create a renewal.
Notice Deadlines
Subtitled "Notice required before expiry or the next renewal," this widget summarises where your notice deadlines stand with three counts: "Missed" (notice deadline passed), "Next 30 days" (due within 30 days), and "Next 90 days" (due in 31–90 days).
It also counts decisions as "Undecided", "In Progress", or "Settled". Below the counts it lists every contract that has a notice date or a notice-given decision. Each row links to the contract and can show "Renewal Secured", the recorded decision, and a party name from the contract.
Contract Status
A categorical chart of your contracts by status: "Ending", "Superseded", "Ended", "Active", "Notice due (≤90 days)", "Notice missed", "Expired", and "Open-ended". Statuses with no contracts are left off the chart, and the footer lists every status with its count. The widget offers a chart-type control. The chart is display-only: statuses do not link anywhere.
Coverage & Gaps
Subtitled "Gaps an auditor would spot first," this widget counts incomplete contract records:
"Contracts with no Owner or a vacant Owner role"
"Contracts with no file attached"
"Contracts with no end date or term"
"Paid contracts with no notice period" (shown only when at least one paid contract has no notice period)
Each row shows a count against the total with a progress bar. If you have view access to contracts, each row links to the Contracts register filtered to that gap so you can work through the list.
Annual Value by Type
Subtitled "Yearly spend and income by contract type," this widget shows "Annual Spend" and "Annual Income" totals in your currency, then a diverging bar chart by contract type with "Spend" and "Income" columns. Hovering a bar shows the contract type, the amount, and the number of contracts.
Renewal Cliff
Subtitled "Contract value ending or renewing each month," this widget shows contract value across the next twelve months.
Totals for "Next 90 days" and "Next 12 months".
A 12-month chart with separate "Ends" and "Auto-renews" segments.
"Notice missed" and "Notice due ≤30 days" indicators.
The chart shows spend by default. When your site has income contracts, "Spend" and "Income" controls appear in the header with the selected direction highlighted. Hovering a month shows the month, the spend or income value, the contract count, the ending value, the auto-renewing value, the top contracts for that month, and any notice warning. Contract values excluded from the chart are listed beneath it.
Top Suppliers
The last widget, subtitled "Annual spend by supplier," shows how much you spend with each supplier per year.
Where to go next
The dashboard shows where contracts stand; the actions live on the contract records. To record or change a renewal decision from the Renewal Runway or a contract, see Record a renewal decision. To plan a renewal or replacement, see Renew or replace a contract. To clear the "Contracts with no file attached" gap, see Attach files to a contract.
