Choose condition survey standards for a site
Admins choose the condition survey standard for a site in Settings > Options. The choice determines whether new condition surveys use a fixed DfE-style catalog or free-text fields for elements, sub-elements, and construction types.
Where to set the survey standard
Open Settings and select Options.
Find the Condition Survey Standard setting.
Select one of the two available modes:
Uncontrolled β allows free-text entry for element, sub-element, and construction type.
DfE Condition Data Collection β uses the fixed DfE catalog with predefined choices for elements, sub-elements, and construction types.
Save the change.
What the setting controls
The standard only affects new condition surveys created after the change. Existing surveys keep the mode they were created with.
Uncontrolled mode
Users type element, sub-element, and construction type as free text when creating or editing survey rows.
DfE Condition Data Collection mode
Users pick from searchable lists:
Element and sub-element are chosen from the DfE catalog.
Construction type may be a fixed picker or free text depending on the selected sub-element.
DfE catalog values
When the DfE standard is active, the fixed choices for grading and priority are:
Grades: A, B, C, D
Priority ratings: 1, 2, 3, 4
Grade flag X is allowed on grades B and C
