Identity emails
Identity emails are mandatory account-security messages that CalmCompliance sends for email verification, sign-in codes, and password resets. They use platform-branded CalmCompliance templates, bypass notification preferences and Calm Mode, and their delivery outcomes are recorded in each organisation's notification delivery log where the recipient is a member.
What identity emails include
Each identity email contains a one-time code and an expiry message. The code expires in 10 minutes.
Email type | Heading | What it says |
|---|---|---|
Email verification | Verify Your Email | Use this code to verify your email address for CalmCompliance. |
Sign-in code | Your Sign-In Code | Use this code to sign in to CalmCompliance. |
Password reset | Reset Your Password | Use this code to reset your CalmCompliance password. If you did not request a password reset, you can safely ignore this email. |
Branding and sender
Identity emails are always platform-branded with CalmCompliance branding and logo. They do not use your organisation's custom branding, even if tenant branding is enabled elsewhere.
The sender display name is CalmCompliance or {site name} (via CalmCompliance), and the sender address is [email protected].
Mandatory delivery
Identity emails are mandatory and cannot be muted through standard notification preferences or Calm Mode. They are account-level messages, not tied to a single organisation record, and they still send during sign-up before the user belongs to any organisation.
Delivery log visibility
Delivery outcomes for identity emails are recorded in the notification delivery log. Site administrators can view them under Settings > Notifications on the Deliveries tab. Each row shows the recipient, channel, status, and sent time.
Because identity emails are account-level messages, the delivery row appears in every organisation's log where the recipient is a member. This helps administrators troubleshoot delivery issues for users who belong to multiple organisations.
Users who do not yet belong to an organisation (for example, during sign-up) still receive identity emails, but the delivery row will not appear in an organisation log until they join one.
If you are not receiving identity emails, see Troubleshoot identity email delivery.
For how Calm Mode and notification preferences work for ordinary messages, see Configuring Notification Preferences and Calm Mode.
