Manage SFG20 and Uniclass codes for asset classes
Users with the Manager or Admin role for the Premises module can manage SFG20 and Uniclass codes on asset classes to align the internal taxonomy with industry standards. SFG20 and Uniclass codes can each be added, edited, and removed. This works on classes from the shared catalogue too — the codes are separate blocks on the class, so they are not blocked by catalogue management.
Before You Start
You need the Manager or Admin role for the Premises module. If you do not see the code management options, ask your site administrator to update your permissions in Settings > User Management > Edit Access.
How to Add an SFG20 or Uniclass Code
Go to Premises > Assets, open the More asset options (…) menu, choose Asset Classes, and open the class you want to update.
In the Asset Class Blocks section, click Add Block and choose SFG20 Code or UNICLASS Code.
Enter the code and save.
The code appears on the asset class. A class can hold only one SFG20 code and one Uniclass code — to change a code, update the existing block instead of adding another.
How to Edit an SFG20 or Uniclass Code
Open the asset class from Premises > Assets > More asset options (…) > Asset Classes.
In the Asset Class Blocks section, open the SFG20 Code or UNICLASS Code block.
Update the code and save.
How to Remove an SFG20 or Uniclass Code
Open the asset class from Premises > Assets > More asset options (…) > Asset Classes.
In the Asset Class Blocks section, open the SFG20 Code or UNICLASS Code block.
Remove the code and confirm.
Navigate Large Class Hierarchies
The asset class browser shows a breadcrumb path and expandable tree so you can move up to parent classes and browse child classes. Richer icon badges help you identify class types quickly in large libraries.
