Control when work is marked as missed
The Auto-mark as missed setting is off by default for every routine. Only routine-generated work can be marked Missed automatically; ad-hoc work is never affected and stays open until someone completes or closes it manually.
What the setting does
When Auto-mark as missed is enabled on a routine, work generated by that routine is automatically closed as Missed if it passes its due date without being completed. Work that has been automatically marked Missed is closed and cannot be reopened.
Routine-generated vs ad-hoc work
Routine-generated work is generated by a recurring routine. It can be automatically marked as Missed if the routine has Auto-mark as missed turned on.
Ad-hoc work is created manually for one-off or reactive jobs. The Auto-mark as missed setting does not apply to it and does not appear on ad-hoc work. It remains in its current status until someone manually updates or closes it.
Before you start
You need the Manager or Admin role in Operations to change routine settings.
Turn on auto-mark as missed
Go to Operations > Work and open the Routines tab.
Open the routine you want to configure.
Find the Auto-mark as missed setting.
Toggle it on.
Save the routine.
What happens when the setting is enabled
Any work generated by this routine that is not completed before its due date is automatically closed as Missed. The routine advances to the next scheduled occurrence as normal.
