Start a checklist
Open a checklist and choose Start Now to run it straight away, or Plan Work to schedule it for a date. Both choices appear after you click Start on a checklist, wherever you start it from.
Before you start
What you can do depends on your Operations module role:
Member and above can choose Start Now and begin the work immediately.
Manager and Admin can also choose Plan Work, which creates a work item on your site.
If an option is not available to your role, it is still shown but cannot be confirmed.
Start the checklist now
Use the Checklists catalogue when you want to begin the work this minute. The checklist starts as soon as you confirm, unless the same work is already running.
Go to Operations > Checklists.
Find the checklist on the All, Favourites, or Recently Used tab.
Click Start on the checklist card.
Choose Start Now.
If work for the same checklist is already Open or In Progress on the exact same target, choose Open Existing Job to continue it or Start Extra Run to start an additional run. If there is no outstanding work, your work starts immediately.
The work opens in the run view. Checklist answers save as you enter them, so you can leave and come back without losing progress. See Complete a work order for how to work through the run view and close the job.
Plan the work for later
Use Plan Work when the checklist should be done on a future date instead of right now. This creates a dated one-off work item for the checklist that appears in Work.
Click Start on the checklist card in Operations > Checklists.
Choose Plan Work.
Set the date the work should be done.
The dated work item appears in Work, separate from the schedule the checklist may belong to.
Start from a location, asset, or QR code
The same Start Now / Plan Work choice appears wherever the checklist is offered. Open a location or asset page and find its checklists section, or scan the QR code at the location to reach the scan view, then choose Start and follow the same steps above. After you start
Work started from a checklist runs in the run view described in Complete a work order. Answers, notes, and photos save as you enter them until the work is closed.
